Penumbra Town is the first town to go to for any trainer on the gym journey. It’s a long hike up to the hilltop where this town sits, and there's no way around it for anybody either. But it's worth the effort, since the town has a perfect view of the stars and night sky.

Ithiel City is normally the second place trainers go once they have obtained their first gym badge. Holders of the Night Badge and other evidently competent trainers may use the air ferry service to reach the volcanic city, while anyone else must use more covert and less comfortable means.

Sub-boards: ITHIEL GYM, COAL SPA, THE SCORCHING MENAGERIE, VOLCANO CAVE

In the rock basin is Kepa City, a growing, populous town with old-town standards. Cut through the huge fields to get here, it’s the third place a trainer may stop on their gym badge quest. But good luck navigating this meadow-strewn area.

Fallow Forest stands as a great barrier in between Kepa City and Cornlily City. The thick, white-trunked trees seem to stretch on endlessly and there are numerous dead-ends that can steal away anyone's sense of direction. Rangers keep an eye on things, but there are poisonous Pokémon aplenty here...

Cornlily City is usually the third place trainers go in search of gym badges. Once the great forest is braved, the quaint little city is nestled deep in the trees. But be careful; Cornlily might look harmless, but you never know what those Poison twins are up to...

Oberon Town is an almost fairy-tale town settled on the tiny plane of Metis Island. It is filled with beautiful, classical white architecture with ridged columns and marble statues and its people are amongst the most polite and hospitable in Caligo.

Unlike anywhere else on the other islands, Boreas Island is icy cold, and quite literally. Always extremely cold and snowy year round, it makes a great holidaying area even if locals are few and far between. Tough trainers litter the island, though. You’ve been warned!

Sub-boards: ICE CAVES, DRAGON ROCK

A very small town out in the middle of nowhere, Corsair Cove is a town of thieves and cheats. Eventually it leads on to the route to Crucible City, but by a less direct path. Its buildings are derelict and ramshackle, and its inhabitants fit to match. Newcomers beware; there's many a petty thief waiting to snatch gold or Pokémon from the ignorant.

Named for the terrible perils lying within, the Forbidden Desert is a harsh, brutal stretch of blazing sand that can swallow up any sense of time, direction or distance. The sands shift in the roaring sandstorms and wild Pokémon are aggressive and predatory.
