ADOPTING CHARACTERS
- If you see a character in any of the area information threads marked as adoptable, then bypass this board and create a bio in the regular Character Creation board for them. Note that these characters usually have roles in the areas and may even serve plot purposes in the future, which means you may be contacted by staff for special character involvement.[liststyle]a[/liststyle]
- However, If it's a player-created character or abandoned character, their skeleton bio will be on this board so you can make a bio for them here, thus indicating that you wish to claim the character.
- Adopted characters don't count towards your character limit! However, your number of adopted characters can't be more than twice the number of your original characters.
- Make a normal bio for adoptable NPC characters, or if it's a player-made adoptable character, fill out the bio form provided (if there is one). However, you must clearly indicate exactly where the NPC character comes from. i.e: "Mountain Rescue, Fionola City".
- Simply expressing interest in an adoptable character doesn't guarantee you'll get it. If others post adequate bios for them first, they are perfectly entitled to the character.
- If more than one person wants a particular character, then they should all make bios for it. The creator of the adoptable will decide who gets the character; if it's an NPC staff will assign an owner.
- A roleplay sample is a good way to prove you're going to be able to roleplay the character well, so while not obligatory, it may be something you want to do anyway when making bios for adoptables.
- Once the adoption process is complete and you have a full bio for the character which has been approved by the original creator and/or staff, post it in the normal character creation board for accepting.
POSTING ADOPTABLES
- If you have a character you'd like someone else to make, make a thread with their key information in this board. Include as much or as little detail as you like, but be sure to state exactly what you're looking for. Don't just make random characters for no reason; they should be in some way involved with your own characters (why else would you want them made?). [liststyle]a[/liststyle]
- Once somebody has made a bio for your character, look over it and decide if it's what you had in mind - feel free to ask applicants for a sample. If it meets your criteria, then tell the applicant to post the full bio in the Character Creation board for approval by staff.
- Once the adoptable character is fully accepted, mark the thread title in this board as "complete" so staff know the thread is no longer needed.
- If a bio is floating around in this board for more than two months with no interest expressed, it will be deleted, so be sure to save whatever you want from ageing threads.
- If you have multiple applicants for a character, it's up to you to decide who gets it. Staff will only intervene by request or if things are getting out of hand.
