The sun was shining. Not that it really made much of a difference, though. Sunny weather had blessed the skies for weeks on end, not a drop of rain to be seen in quite some time. As much as clear skies and being able to see the brilliance of the sun's rays every once in a while appealed to the population, it was made apparent that the lack of precipitation was beginning to catch up with the grass that crunched beneath one's feet more than it should have. The pale blue skies were not welcomed with open arms as they would have been under normal circumstances, for this reason, and the day was not as cheery as it possibly could have been for the word.
