THE PSYCHIC GYM

"Welcome, trainer, to Oberon Town's illusory gym".

Ceridwen built the Oberon Gym very recently, although she was careful to disguise it in the same ancient-style building that the rest of the town is made up of. She certainly has an eye for architecture, as she has produced a fairly spectacular space for her gym. It is a larger building than all the others and shaped almost like a tiered cake with each segment growing narrower the further up it is. There are elegantly carved marble pillars at regular intervals all the way round each segment. The whole structure seems to rise seamlessly out of a solid rock foundation, as if it were carved out of that rock rather than placed there. Stone steps have been cut into the rock to enable trainers to walk in a spiral around the whole building to reach the door. On very misty days, the gym can be shrouded in a white haze which only adds to the ancient, mythical feel the whole town has.

Once inside the gym, the mysteries only continue. Ceridwen has created a very beautiful, intricate gym, filled with stone and marble statues and carvings in ancient language, but it is also filled with trickery. There are dozens of tiny rooms inside, and each is equipped with false walls, hidden teleports and distortion mirrors, all designed to unsettle the mind and completely disorient the challenger, meaning that just reaching Ceridwen is quite a feat. No step taken is guaranteed not to lead the challenger into some kind of danger and concealed trainers may pounce from any corner. Nonetheless, eventually, one is bound to stumble across the one room which holds the glowing white teleport that leads to Ceridwen's room.

The leader herself is in her early thirties and is a beautiful, if strange, sight. She has astonishingly pale blonde hair, so much so that it seems almost turquoise in direct light. Her complexion is also extremely light, and her eyes a pale shade of grey. Ceridwen, in all her ethereal grace, also has strong psychic abilities that allow her to speak to challengers and Pokémon without ever opening her mouth. Of course, her speciality is Psychic Pokémon and her telepathic skills afford her a steep advantage, allowing her to always have the element of surprise. If one should manage to beat her, however, she will reward handsomely with the Foresight Badge.

Blackbelt Ivan
A master of karate, Ivan has no psychic powers whatsoever and would seem an odd fit in a Psychic gym, were it not for his talent with Psychic-Fighting Pokémon.

Psychic Ophelia
Ophelia is a Ceridwen-wannabe, though only with a tiny fraction of her leader's masterful Psychic abilities. She has dyed her hair to match Ceridwen's white-blond locks and adopts what she hopes are mystical airs.

Rex is a cool cat who has mild-to-medium telekinetic powers and a strong team of Psychic Pokémon. He will use tricks aplenty to give his team the edge.
