"Welcome to Crucible's indestructible gym". [/center]

Crucible Gym is the most formidable sight in the city, or indeed in the whole otherwise barren desert. Travellers may see it rising out the sand as a great, cylindrical shape in the distance, one of the few markers of Crucible City's location. The gym is a titanic tower sealed into the desert floor and covered by a vast array of metal shards in a magnificent armoured coating, each piece different to the next. Nestled in amongst the metal are scattered precious stones which glint in the sunlight. Crucible Tower is a terrifying yet beautiful construct in the depths of the harsh desert.

The inside is no less unforgiving, filled with wide ledges that serve as battlegrounds for the trainers that bar the way to the leader. There are no railings or fences that prevent a person or Pokémon from flying off the edge while a further complication is the fact that the gym also has no stairs. The only way to progress to the top is by using the few ridges, ropes and poles that are specifically designed to sap at the trainer's physical strength as they make their way up to the uppermost floor of the tower, which, unlike the other floors, is surrounded by glass windows that reveal the desert storms outside.

Leader Romaine is a battle-hardened woman in her early forties who, as a former military commander, is pure steel like the Pokémon she loves so much. Oddly enough, she is actually physically quite small and slim in stature, but has such a commanding presence that most people don't realise it. She is ferociously devoted to her gym and her training, and she is the toughest battle short of a few aged experts. Beating her is an exhausting task, but should it happen Madam Romaine will bestow the Alloy Badge, an indestructible heart-shaped shard of metal crafted from materials shed by one of her own Pokémon.

Ace Trainer Mathilde
A young but talented trainer, Mathilde has poured her soul into her work with her Pokémon and lives for nothing else. She never leaves the gym.
