The Smuggler's Den pretty much sums up Corsair Cove in that it is a distinctly dodgy, low-quality, hidden establishment in the back streets of the already dilapidated area. The drain outside has been broken for months and nobody's bothered to fix it, meaning that you have to step across a wide puddle of who-knows-what just to reach the entrance to the Den.

Pushing through the grubby red curtain across the doorway, the room is dimly lit and sparsely furnished. All that is inside is a small table on which a case of dark brown Pokéballs sits and another larger table, covered in scratch marks. The case contains the Pokémon for sale, while the bigger table is used for displaying them outside their Pokéballs should the client insist on it. The Pokéballs used are a banned type classified as Rogue Balls, known to have a very high catch rate at the expense of the caught Pokémon, which will be in pain for as long as they remain inside.

These Pokémon are wares of the Smuggler, a slippery fox of a man. He is unavailable unless you're purchasing something from him, and his experience in the criminal ring of Pokémon smuggling means that he is highly streetwise and suspicious. He is a master at evading the law, and once he seals a deal he will disappear, leaving you to cover your own tracks. Enter at your peril; the Smuggler often has rare Pokémon for very cheap prices, sometimes caught in the wild and sometimes stolen from trainers, meaning that some are already very strong. But there is a distinct downside in that the Pokémon are usually aggressive and ill so patrons run the risk of being caught by law enforcement officers.
