MONKSHOOD BAR


"...What'll it be?"

Monkshood Bar attracts every resident of Corsair Cove virtually every day. Even though it is just a grungy little room on the main street, it is always full of noise and raucous laughter with beer glasses clinking and gin flowing. It has rather gaudy décor on the green-papered walls and the bar counter is covered in a thin layer of grime, but strangely enough there is a genuinely comfortable atmosphere in the place. If the thieves crawling in the corners can be ignored, that is, because many an intoxicated traveller has had his wallet stripped bare by Corsair's pickpockets in Monkshood Bar.

The bar's owner is not what one would expect. While most of Corsair is filled with burly, brawling men and tough-as-a-rhino-hide stocky women, Monkshood is the property of a young, beautiful woman who simply goes by Jen. She has bleach blonde hair and blue eyes and is tall, but slightly built. Her appearance is totally deceiving, though, for she handles her unruly patrons with twice as much clout as they have. She is absurdly tough and has a tongue sharper than a knife as well as a pocketful of powerful Pokémon that means she won't take any nonsense.

That doesn't mean she actually bothers to break up the numerous bar fights that crop up each night, though, and she's somewhat well known for looking the other way when underage visitors come in. In her defence, she does make sure that nobody is seriously hurt and ensures vulnerable or especially young visitors are taken care of. There is little else she can do, given that sordid business, deceit and cheating are totally ingrained into Corsair culture.

Petty Thief Lionel

A first class kleptomaniac, you have to make sure Lionel doesn't pinch Pokéballs out of your pocket when you're not looking.

Bar Trawler Vicky

An almost permanent fixture in the bar, Vicky keeps her eye out for men who look like they have some gold in their pocket. What with her scanty dress, she doesn't seem to do much to promote respect for women, but beware. Her singing Delcatty has been known to assist Vicky in countless cunning thefts that prove she's no stupid airhead.

Landlady Jen
Brittle and sharp, Jen won't take any misbehaviour. Well, not if she thinks it'll get her in trouble. She doesn't battle unless it's to break up bar brawls, but her Pokémon are some of the strongest in town.
