It started with a tense, low rumble, as if rolling across a cold stone floor, a perfect spherical shape... and then it shattered as if unleashing an ugly bottle of pure rage and hate for the world, roaring, screaming, clapping right in her sensitive, ringing ears. The girl was already halfway blind and sure as hell didn't want to go deaf as well, but it seemed absolutely unpreventable given the circumstance she was in. The girl's nerves were shaking like a child's toy rattle, the sounds and smells of the storm crawling up her spine in the form of a hard and relentless panic. She could hear the thunder rumbling and roaring in her ear and then ambush her with a harsh bang that resembled that of a shot gun. She could hear the rain dribbling down tree trunks, smacking itself into thick, green leaves, and pool in small streams at her feet. As much as she hated the lightning, it was quite frankly the only source of light she had. The delicious blessing of having her eyes and world flooded with light, even for only a second, was the only thing preventing her from becoming lost. She had to find a certain building. She simply had to, even if it was the last thing she did. At least she wouldn't be considered a waste of space then. She could die knowing she tried her hardest and proved everyone wrong. The girl gingerly tumbled over roots that extended outwards from the ground as if they would, at any given time, wrap around the girl's ankles and purposely trip her, then laugh at her with small giggles of their rustling leaves. The wind was harsh but the feminine lady stood against it, hurling herself against the forces of nature to push herself not only against the bitter wind, but further towards her goal of finally making something of her pathetic life. With a whip of lightning, a tree branch cracked, shattered, and fell in wooden splinters at Vivian's feet. She screamed a bit in surprise, then simply tensed up, released her muscles, and continued on. The darkness had always given Vivian the creeps, but now it seemed so disturbing that she felt it could consume her whole if she wasn't careful. Another flash of lightning crossed her eyes, momentarily lighting her way. In the distance she could see the bulk of the building hiding from her in the form of a silhouette... the building she was literally risking her life to reach. It wasn't that getting a Pok?mon was a life or death matter, but it held a rather simple yet powerful symbolic meaning for the girl. The good boys and girls had all received their Pok?mon at the tender age of ten and set off to be the very best and catch 'em all. Vivian locked herself in her room and played video games with her older sister. Because of this fact, everyone around her made sure to remind her of how she was a failure, how she'd never have a steady source of income, and how she'd die living in the basement at the age of thirty. She'd show them... she'd show them all. The spark of confidence that was so generously given to her by seeing the blurry shadow of the building in the distance was what kept her going. Her drenched clothes heavily weighed her down and her deerskin skirt almost fell right off of her due to the massive amount of weight it was carrying from the rain water, but she clenched her fists around it tightly as if she were a Scraggy and pressed on. And, finally, after what seemed like hours, she reached it. The teenager reached one violently trembling hand up to the structure of the lab and rested her palm on it. Her lungs screamed for sweet oxygen and her legs trembled and wobbled as if their very interior could collapse at any second. She didn't care, however, for she had made it. She had made it. Vivian, gasping for air, brought her hand up to the door and began to violently pound. Now that she had reached the place, she was extremely eager to get inside and out of the rain, surrounded by cute and cuddly starter Pok?mon. Her fist pounded long and hard on the door as she stood as erect as she could, her voice shrieking from her voice box and attempting to launch itself above the sound of the thunder and rain. Screaming. Wailing. She was desperate. "L-let me in! P-please!" |
Right?
...right.
ooc: At the risk of sounding extremely annoying, an Eevee or Deino would be great But if not I like small fluffy Pok?mon otl;;
