Appearance
The very two things that strike out as significant features about this kid are the fact she's both short, and very pale, especially compared to her tan sister. Vivian had never been tan in her entire life, especially because of her caucasian ethnicity, but she wears her frail, thin skin with pride and the few scars that come with it. Vivian is overall very healthy in appearance. In terms of her actual body, she is, as mentioned above, shorter than average. Many have mistaken her for a very young child because of her height (and personality, but we'll get into that later.) Hours upon hours of play and wear and tear on the sun outdoors has had it's course on her; she eats like a tank and has the bone structure built for rough playing and high jumping and tumbling. Her bones are a highly developed and tough in structure. She is toned up, and while every person on the planet has fat on their body, Vivian seems to have the minimum amount possible. She often has trouble staying warm in cold weather and hates the winter and fall because of it. Although Vivian's bones are in no way brittle, she seems to attract a storm of rough physical play wherever she goes because of her curious attitude. She's been in a lot of physical pressures because of this, and has the scars to prove it. On her pale, toned skin she has fleshy pink scars on her right calf, right upper arm, and on her lower tummy. She also has a faint blush to her skin, mainly on her cheeks and knees and shoulders, as the girl is constantly shy and flustered around strangers and new people that her sister can't vouch for.
She has a round, circle-shaped head and face and it makes her appear even younger than what she already appears to be. A mop of dark bubblegum colored hair rests on her head and sways with every little nod, the individual, curly strands all seeming to move with failure when it comes to unison. Not a single hair on her head is the same length of thickness as the next one, and her hair consists of multiple layers of shaggy, yet bubbly pink that sometimes flop over her face and give her a wild appearance. She has a larger than average forehead which is hidden behind her curly stream of hair, and two dark brown eyebrows resting on high arches. Her eyes, round shaped and a deep, vintage hazel, seem to be full of life and curiosity and a wild desire to cause mischief, yet are rather soft with her innocence but may turn to glare at her enemies that she scarcely makes. Her pupils are a darker forest green and yellow hue and seem to contrast against her bright hazel eyes, filling up a small portion of Vivian's iris. Underneath her eyes rest plump cheeks on high cheekbones and are often flushed with a fleshy pink tint as the girl is easily flustered and tends to blush a lot. But, between each eye is a small nose with narrow nostrils and a smooth, round tip. Her lips aren't far behind and are petite in terms of size. She has a joyful, happy little smile with pearly white teeth. The sides of her face connect and smooth down to connect a small lower jaw and chin, only enhancing her appearance as a small child.
As for Vivian's choice of clothing, she literally wears whatever she finds is comfortable. For Vivian, however, 'comfortable' is a complex draping of clothes such as sashes, exposing shirts, deerskin skirts and beaver fur accessories, bead, beads, beads, and more beads, bracelets... the list goes on and on.
Oh, and another thing? This girl almost always has a blue raspberry lollipop in her mouth and a pocket knife or even a few more than just one in the pockets of her sack. They both hold a very important event close to her heart even though she seems to like cherry flavored lollipops a lot more. The girl's favorite pocket knife, a gift from her mother, is kept on a chain around her neck with a small orange holster and an even smaller silver blade. It's extremely simple, but it's her favorite one for rather obvious reasons.
Personality
Vivian is, in short, a rather odd child; despite her rather random and outlandish appearance, Vivian is shy, clingy, possessive, and very submissive and terrified of strangers. Vivian has endured years upon years of criticism from her parents which has resulted in the girl being broken on the inside and even some on the out. Vivian is a rather odd child, wearing faux fur accessories for comfort, always seen with a raspberry blue lollipop and a pocket knife, or three. Despite her odd behavior, as mentioned above, she is one shy girl; she often hides behind her older sister when confronted by strangers and even strange Pok?mon. She cannot stand aggression and prefers to run away from aggressive people and Pok?mon completely rather than try and talk things through. She becomes a shy, stuttering mess around new people and doesn't like to meet new people or explore new places very much. She has a tendency to wander off into a world in her head where there is no such thing as people besides her and her sister, but alas, it is simply a dream that is, and always will be, impossible to achieve. Yes, she is quite the dreamer and often explores worlds and fantasies in her head, zoning out during important (but boring) tasks. She likes to pretend and has a vivid imagination, and wants to express herself artistically even if her drawings are lame. She also has a weird fascination with colorful balloons and ramen. She hates lima beans with a passion.
Vivian is very clingy to those she actually does adore and trust with her life, such as her sister. If any yucky boys even lay a hand on Peyton she will become extremely flustered and jealous and will find any way she can to convince her sister to shy away from them. Vivian often cuddles and snuggles with her older sister and doesn't allow anyone to touch the girl which is sometimes... no, scratch that, is always annoying. She has not clung like this towards anybody but her sister yet, but when she does finally learn to trust someone enough to become rather clingy, it's permanent. No matter how many names you call the girl, no matter how many times you hit her, she is loyal like a dog and will not budge if she truly loves someone; good thing Peyton's not abusive, huh? Once she confines all of her heart and soul and emotions into one person, she becomes, as mentioned above, very jealous and possessive. She doesn't seem to understand that people can and will have other friends than just her and pouts and becomes very flustered when she sees her close friends, mainly her sister, even smiling at somebody else that isn't Vivian herself. Especially strangers. Her affections don't just range from being emotionally attached, either, but they also get very physical, and she will cling and cuddle and kiss people's cheeks, not seeming to have a sense of personal space at all. Speaking of this, Vivian loves affection in all forms, as long as she's expecting it. If you even tap the girl on the shoulder while she's not expecting it she'll become very jumpy and paranoid. If you raise your hand to her, she'll cry. She's a very timid girl, yes.
She hates conflict.. no, despises it. she will do literally almost anything to avoid conflict (outside of Pok?mon battles, of course.) If faced with even the most mild of drama or conflict, she will go weak and wobbly at the knees and will become a blubbering, tearful mess. Yes, she is a big baby and doesn't like fighting. She is one of those people that will often say, "Why can't we all just get along?" Even if she doesn't agree or share the same opinion as someone, she will pretend she does just to satisfy them. She often alters her personality to suit the needs of others. Examples include how she will talk formally with a polite businessman and then run across the street to throw candy and jump around excitedly with the ADD kids at the daycare. Because of this, she isn't quite sure what her true personality is when she's not busy being shy and timid. She knows, however, that she loves Pok?mon of all shapes and sizes and will often prefer to befriend her team mates rather than battle and then confine them into a pokeball. She loves Pok?mon and believes they should be treated as humanely as possible, but despite her beliefs, she isn't about to join PETA or go vegetarian; she loves her meat. Vivian can eat like a tank, which she does, and will never become full. She has a lot of energy and she burns it off very well. This girl is in no way possible out of shape or lazy.
Speaking of food, Vivian is often seen sampling things that normal people would view as disgusting she loves to experiment and try new foods and it's not uncommon for her to be mixing desserts and condiments like ketchup on ice cream or mayo on brownies. She is quite a chef, too; she can make a mean dish with just about anything that is thrown at her from vegetables wrapped in tortillas to a full restaurant quality meal of steak, chives, and killer home made french fries. She also loves to draw despite how terrible she is at it; her scribbles look like you gave a five year old some crayons and a few sheets of paper. She likes to draw happy things, such as Pok?mon with smiley faces or pictures of her and her sister on a warm summer day. She doesn't use perspective in her drawings and everything is 2d and flat but the girl seems extremely proud of her work despite what anybody dares to say about it. She often draws made up worlds and even made up Pok?mon but in reality, she hates seeing new places and meeting new people. she prefers a day-by-day plan with no such thing as change; yet another impossible goal.
History
Before one can know Vivian's history, they must first know the history of the family who adopted her. Samantha and Robert were two parents who were very much in love, and their love soon resulted in Peyton, a young girl with midnight colored hair, by accident. She wasn't planned at all, but the Caldwell family decided to keep her. Although she was a very happy and normal-developed child, her parents soon found themselves fighting over simple things as Samantha went through a moody and grouchy time after taking care of the two year old Peyton. Peyton's father was a tiny bit sexist and would scream at his wife to keep her in line, yet somehow, they decided they wanted another child. They tried and tried for about three months but she simply couldn't get a positive result on the daily pregnancy tests that she took. Soon after a trip to the town's doctor, the couple found that Samantha was now sterile. Samantha was a train wreck after this event and locked herself up in her room for days, forcing Robert to raise her daughter Peyton all by himself. Because of this he became resentful towards his wife who did nothing but mope around, became much more tense and even spanked Peyton a few times if she acted out, something he had never even thought about in the past. Peyton was a rough child and often back-talked and obviously had a bigger bark than bite, and the Caldwell family soon came to the conclusion that they needed another child to 'wear her out', to quote Robert.
Vivian was an accident just as her older sister was, but was unfortunately not as lucky as Peyton. Her birth mother, although she loved her daughter very much, had neither the financial nor emotional stability required to raise a child; thus, she was put up for adoption. Before Vivian even knew how to sit up she was adopted by the Caldwell family. Life was completely normal and she had a completely normal development (aside from the fact she learned to walk at eight months old.) Her family was adoring of the child until she reached the age of five, where she began to go through the typical 'terrible twos' stage, only at a bit of a later date than most. One day when her father was working on his latest taxidermy project, Vivian asked a rather innocent question, "Daddy, will you play ball with me?" When her father told her he would later that afternoon, Vivian threw a tantrum and ruined her father's hard work in rage. Vivian's father had never been a rageful man, but his anger somehow got the best of her, and he struck Vivian hard in the face, leaving the child with a nasty bruise. Vivian was confused and exceptionally angry after this and until the age of eleven held a fearful respect for her father; no, she didn't like her, but the fear kept her in line along with the strength he held in the family.
A year went by with smooth sailing. When Vivian's thirteenth birthday rolled around, she began to wonder questions that a foster child would, of course, wonder. "Why don't I look like you guys?" She'd ask after a biology class while learning about blood offspring and parent genetics, "Why is my skin lighter? Why are my eyes hazel? Why am I shorter than you all?" It was about a week later that her parents finally told her she was adopted. Vivian of course took the news very, very harshly. She made it a huge deal and made sure everybody knew with her screaming and wailing and hurriedly locked herself in her room for hours. It was then that she decided she wanted to desperately meet her real mother; when she asked her parents, they, of course, said no. Vivian rebelled immediately and began to endure being yelled at and punished daily (luckily not physically) once more but this time she refused to give up. Although her sanity was a pulp, her spirit was strong and two months before her fourteenth year of life, her parents found themselves sighing and calling the orphanage for their records and contact information to Vivian's blood mother. Vivian began to become much more antsy as her parents set up an appointment for her real birth mother to come to their house for her fourteenth birthday. When the day finally did come, it was indeed a wonderful day for the girl.
Although Vivian's mother was extremely jealous and her father was eager to rush this new lady out of the house to not upset his wife any further, she did take her sweet time in letting her daughter know that she truly did love her. They spent hours talking over cake and ice cream and giggling; Vivian didn't mind the fact her birth mother hadn't brought a single present, as her presence was all the teenager needed. It was then that she whipped out a raspberry lollipop and a simple pocket knife and gave them to the teen, sharing a tearful goodbye with her and returning to her home far, far away in the Kanto region. Vivian began to absolutely adore blue raspberry lollipops and blew her allowance on mountains of them and various pocket knives which she began to collect as well.
However, she was extremely depressed upon her mother's depart.
It was about three months after the event that she began to notice changes; she would sweat more, she developed terrible acne, and had aches and pains all over her body. She was constantly tired and also consistantly melancholy; her entire world revolved around the memories of her birth mother who she was certain she wouldn't see again for a long, long time. It was then that her sister Peyton began to finally notice that Vivian even existed. Up until now, she had simply read a book in her room while Vivian was being... well, Vivian, and kept to herself; the silence was better. Upon noticing her younger sister suffering with a relentless depression, she took Vivian under her wing, comforted her, and simply talked to her. She happily played pretend with the girl without judging her (it wasn't often that teenagers still played such a simple child's game.) Over a two year span, the two had a rock hard bond and somehow became the best of friends.
Vivian, now sixteen, had began to notice yet another unique feature about herself. She began to notice that while her high school friends swooned over the tan, muscular boys, she was staring at how beautiful the girl with the straight blonde hair next to her was. She was, as most would be, terribly confused. She debated telling Peyton, as up until then, Vivian had told her everything; but her nerves got the best of her. Vivian soon found herself shying away from Peyton and becomming a blushing, stuttering mess around the older girl. "Truly this is wrong," Vivian always thought to herself, "This isn't right." She learned of the legendary Pok?mon and prayed to them; yes, she attempted to pray her homosexuality away. For two years she kept to herself and tried hard to get Arceus, Giratina, Palkia, Shaymin, anybody who would listen to her, to get these thoughts away from the depths of her mind. And a few days after her eighteenth birthday, she told her parents while Peyton was asleep. She couldn't know- she couldn't ever know.
Her parents, especially her father, didn't take it well. Tension turned into shouting, shouting turned into screaming, and Vivian was kicked out of the house. Peyton, awakened by the screaming, asked her parents what had happened; they simply shook their heads.
Now Vivian is on her way to the lab with little to live on. She needs to find a Pok?mon, and fast.

It was as if the girl had her own inner music.
Vivian had always been a dreamer, a singer, and a dancer. It was as if she had her own inner music, some sort of inner music that she constantly danced to, even in the form of walking, speaking, and moving. She always moved with purpose; the slight sway of her hips, the swinging of her arms, and the bounce of her bubblegum pink curls were all proof of this. Not a single step she took was in vain, but after the loss of Peyton, she sure did feel like it. Vivian couldn't stop thinking of her older step-sister, the very woman she had been so deeply in love with, her best friend, her mentor, and her guidance in this cold, cruel world. After being kicked out of the house and forced to leave Peyton behind, Vivian couldn't help but feel herself losing her focus, her purpose, her mind. She was absolutely lost without her older sibling; the world was, so far, scaring her. Vivian had always been easily scared and quite timid, but the fact that Peyton wasn't beside her to console, comfort, and protect her proved to be too much for the girl to handle. Vivian wanted to turn around and apologize to her family. She didn't care what her adoptive mother and father thought of her; as long as she had Peyton in her arms again, all would be well. But, as mentioned, Vivian was simply a dreamer, and dreams were sadly not reality. The girl sighed as she waved her arms and hips while strolling down the sidewalk of Verona. She had an intent in mind. She had about no money, no friends, along with no Pok?mon to call her own. For now, she couldn't.
No matter what, she had to get her mind off of things before even making progress towards a journey of her own.
And, as she neared the exact place she was wandering around for in the dark, she could feel the bass booming beneath her feet. Music. Real, actual music. Vivian felt a smile crawl onto her features and her hips starting to mindlessly sway a bit. Despite being a bit late to develop, Vivian had always found herself very, very responsive to music, sometimes to the point where the girl didn't even realize it herself. And, beneath the twinkling stars, she walked. She walked happily towards the exclusive rave- yes, happily- for she had her music and was very eager to see the neon lights flashing like dynamite before her eyes to the rhythm of her own personal drug.
Music.
She could hear the wobbly bass pretty clear now; it boomed through the streets and echoed through the chilly, crisp midnight air. Vivian's grin widened as she approached the large building, very timidly lowering her head and quickly slipping past the guards. Although she was freshly eighteen, she still looked quite a bit younger.
The music overwhelmed her along with the flashing neon lights. Vivian's pupils dilated immediately and the girl found her arms rising over her head and her hips already starting to sway in a slight dance movement that resembled the techniques used in belly dancing. And she danced; every muscle in her body was incorporated into the show, and very soon, she felt herself beginning to relax. Finally.
She would keep her mind away from Peyton... for now.
