WELL OF WISDOM

The Well of Wisdom is an ancient, mysterious old well out in the grasslands of Metis Island. It would appear that the circular stone rim, built of layered silvery stone, is of human construction, but there is no-one alive who can attest to its origin. It is round in shape, much like a traditional wishing well, but lacks the wooden construct usually found over such wells. While not large, the well can easily fit a grown man down the cylindrical depths. Presently it no longer serves as a well since whatever used to be its water source has long since dried up or otherwise vanished.

Instead of a water supply at the bottom, there is a sprawing cavern many feet underground. This cavern may only be reached by each trainer's own ingenuity, since there is no ladder or steps to take them down. Once in there, it is pitch black, slightly damp and somewhat warmer than the outside air. It is a known spot for catching rare Pokémon, but the authorities of Oberon Town do not allow entry unless the Foresight Badge from Ceridwen is presented. The reason for this is that dangerous Pokémon are well known to linger in the dark, dank cave which is so peculiarly located underneath the well's mouth. Only sufficiently competent trainers should even consider entering. While down there, there are no rangers or guards who can guarantee visitors' safety, so anyone who enters does so at their own risk.

The Well of Wisdom is home to Pokémon not found anywhere else, but many of them are strong and territorial. There are also rumours of a terrible beast down the well who will bring great harm to anyone who disturbs it. The only way to find out just what can be discovered in the well is by plunging down, but it is not a fall for the faint hearted
