HALLOWED TEMPLE

The ancient Hallowed Temple is one of the oldest things on Metis Island. Oberon Town has a largely forgotten past and the aged and weathered classical temple is a part of it. Whatever it was originally has been lost to the sands of time, and it is known nowadays as the peaceful Pokémon haven owned by wise Mr Nagusame, a rather baffling old man who doesn't say much, but has a heart of gold underneath it all.

If you go to Nagusame, he will likely be able to heal any wound your Pokémon - or indeed you yourself - have, provided you are able to give him a good enough reason to want it so. There is also the opportunity to battle some of the young apprentices who are under Nagusame's tutelage. Dressed in almost silvery white robes, the old man looks every inch the sagely old wise teacher that he truly is. Nagusame is an expert with Pokémon, and it would be unwise to cross him. He defends Metis Town faithfully, and he has a lot more life experience than anyone else on the island.

There are two apprentices in the temple, Yukan and Leon. They are polar opposites, for Yukan is driven, energetic and keen, while Leon seems recalcitrant, surly and unmotivated. However, they are evenly matched as trainers, because for all Yukan's hard work and effort, Leon balances it with raw talent as a trainer. Naturally, Leon is the better trainer, but he is resistant to efforts to change him. He understands exactly what Nagusame teaches and has a clarity of mind that could make him great, but he is a sarcastic cynic. Yukan, on the other hand, is less intelligent and less gifted, but desperate to succeed, and he claws his way up without really understanding what Nagusame tries to teach him.

Enthusiastic and zealous, Yukan is determined to one day be as good as his Sensei. He works all day long at his Pokémon, though Nagusame patiently waits for him to really understand his teachings.

Apprentice Leon
Slightly sociopathic and a cynical, unfriendly kid, Leon is interlocked in a battle of wills with Nagusame over his outlook on life. The old man invariably outdoes him, much to his chagrin.
