THE GHOSTLY TOWER
Built when the original founders of Oberon Town took their first tentative steps onto Metis Island, the Ghostly Tower still serves its original purpose as a lighthouse. This would be no extraordinary thing, given that the small, reef-surrounded island must take adequate precautions against causing shipwrecks, were it not for the fact that the last lighthouse keeper died fifty years ago and was never replaced. Somehow, the great orb at the top of the tower continues to glow each night as the sun sets, signalling the island's location. Most people don't know, or mind, how this is accomplished since the top floor is strictly off-limits at Ceridwen's behest. She, however, knows the full story.
The rest of the tower is open to visitors, though, and attracts many trainers in pursuit of the Ghost-types that linger in the old, dark, winding interior. On the outside, the lighthouse seems quite bleak, the higher levels completely swathed in mist and the old stone weathered to dull grey. But on closer inspection, one can see that the tower was built to be a beautiful building - its stone is covered with exquisite hand-carvings of twining, leaping, flying Pokémon, all perfectly preserved in the aging stone. Above the arched, heavy, wooden door is a rather faded inscription-"haec turris iubar fidelem insulae semper est - R.L.E"
-but few stop to consider it in their hurry to see the fabled Ghosts of Oberon. There are mysteries to be had in the Ghostly Tower, but for most visitors it is merely another opportunity to encounter new Pokémon found nowhere else in Caligo.CATCHABLE POKÉMON:
