The gym in Taranis City is unremarkable architecturally. It's a perfectly straightforward four-walled building, though it's very large and spacious and resembles a small warehouse with its high roof and rectangular floor plan. What's interesting is how Rachel has had it decorated. Bored with the plain grey brick of the exterior, she organised a community project to decorate it, and now it is an incredible mass of black and yellow paint, sometimes organised into thunderbolt stirpes, sometimes randomly splattered on, and sometimes carefully applied with small handprints. The overall effect is quite impressive, and the building can be seen a mile off. Some people might think the garish danger colours ugly, but Rachel is very proud of the group effort that produced it, and there's not a hint of grey brick in sight.

The mad pattern on the gym reflects the vibrant character who runs it. Rachel Fischer is a sassy, energetic and vivacious eighteen year old with an electric vibe about her. Her gym practically hums with energy (although that might just be the generators whirring) and it's jam-packed with trainers who await the challengers. She hangs out in the middle of it all where an odd boxing-ring arena stands, its ropes black and yellow - Rachel sometimes even wears boxing gloves as a joke. She's usually decked out as scantily as most eighteen year olds, donning black hot pants, a danger-striped short shirt and clunky leather boots with her blonde hair whirled up in a messy updo. Her team of sizzling Electric types are bound to give challengers a run for their money.

Mimi might look meek and young, but she's really got a powerful team that'll take you by surprise.

Lady Fern
Fern seems like a lovely, kindly, genteel old lady. If you thought that, then you'd be absolutely and completely wrong. She will kick your rear end into next century if you don't watch it.

Mel and Kate are best friends who work in the gym when they're not in school. They're always cheerful but their Pokémon can zap you into oblivion if you're not careful.
